Obituary

Barbara elizabeth brison blankenship, 91, of charleston, passed away on tuesday, march 10, 2015 at camc general hospital.

She was retired from c & p telephone of west virginia.

Barbara was born in indiana on october 9, 1923 to the late margaret and bryan brison.

She came to charleston with her parents, when she was young, and graduated from charleston high school in 1941.

Barbara was a member of first presbyterian church, charleston, the south hills garden club and the south hills mother club.

She was a loving mother and hardworking homemaker for her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, thomas paul blankenship, sr.; son, thomas paul blankenship, jr.; sister, phyllis brison; and brothers, richard and bill brison.

She is survived by her son, stephen l. Blankenship of charleston; daughter, kim (tom) givens of charleston; sisters, jane plott of ripley, martha somerville of houston, tx and janet connell of columbus, oh; brothers, david brison of florida and thomas brison of virginia; grandchildren, krista comer, kelsey comer, kristy lostroot and tracy koffman.

Funeral service will be 1 p.M. Saturday, march 14, 2015 at barlow bonsall funeral home, charleston, with the rev. Dr. William g. Mccoy officiating. Burial will follow at graceland memorial park, south charleston. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made in memory of barbara to: american cancer society, 301 r h l blvd # 6, south charleston, wv 25309 and/or american heart association, 162 court st, charleston, wv 25301.

We Enjoyed Knowing Your Mom So Much And Even After We Moved, I Kept Contact With Her Through Notes And Cards. Please Know That Your Family Is In Our Thoughts Today.
