Obituary

Judith ledsome lambert, 82, passed away on sunday, november 12, 2017. Born in charleston on september 4, 1935, she was the daughter of lucille gay ledsome and robert emmett ledsome. Growing up in kanawha city, judy graduated from charleston high school in 1953, where she was a member of the west virginia all-state chorus. A gifted soprano, she attended alderson-broaddus college (university) where she majored in vocal music and was a member of the prestigious choral group “the west virginians”. She was a presbyterian by faith and attended westminster presbyterian church throughout most of her life, active in music ministry.

Judy worked for dunn and bradstreet in charleston, where she met her husband, donald a. Lambert. They were married at christmastime in 1957. In 1966, they opened his law practice in charleston, where she diligently worked as his secretary for many years. Judy loved the beach, where she enjoyed the beauty around her and, especially, savoring the fresh seafood””her favorite! She also loved being with her family, taking trips, her various pets throughout her lifetime, baking holiday cookies, and picnics at kanawha state forest. At christmas-time, she displayed her trademark tree, decorated all in blue with matching packages.

She is survived by daughters, carrie ameli (dan) of charleston, jennifer o’keefe of alexandria va and alison long (gene) of wilmington, nc; grandchildren catherine lambert ameli, alexandra claire ameli, elizabeth leigh long, dennis connor o’keefe, and edward lambert long, half-sister nancy (bryan) duvall, and half-brothers roger (kim) ledsome of md and david ledsome of de. She also leaves many cousins and friends, as well as her beloved dog, louie.

Memorial service will be on friday, november 17, at 5:00 pm at barlow-bonsall funeral home, with visitation from 4pm to 5pm. A private interment service for family will be held at sunset memorial park.
