I Served In The 249Th Army Band Of The Wv Army National Guard With Don. We Were Both Woodwind Players – I Was A Saxophonist, And Don Played Clarinet In The Concert Band And Occasionally Played Saxophone In Our Jazz Band. We Got Along Well, And I Enjoyed Listening To Him Relate His Experiences As A Helicopter Pilot. I Saw Him At The Last Reunion Of Our Unit, Which I Believe Was In 2013 In Fairmont. I Could See That Unfortunately Age Was Catching Up With Him At That Point, Which Was Such A Contrast With His Early Years In The Band When He Was One Of Our Higher Scorers On The Annual Physical Fitness Test. My Sincere Condolences To His Family, Friends, And Loved Ones.
