Obituary

Jewell j. “jack” walker went home to be with the lord on january 24, 2019.

Jack was a devout christian, attending the family worship center in chesapeake and was an active philanthropist, donating money to various charitable organizations. Having served his country in both, korea and vietnam, jack was a veteran of the united states army, marine corp. And navy. Jack retired from the navy in 1976 with the rank of chief petty officer and was a recipient of the purple heart.

Jack was preceded in death by glenna, the love of his life and wife of 28 wonderful years.

Jack is survived by his sister, peggy slack of charleston; stepson, george f. Green and wife, anita of nitro; granddaughter, jewel lynn jackson of middlesboro, ky; grandsons, chris green of nitro and corey f. Green of south charleston; and four great-grandchildren, andrew, sean, lily and avery.

Jack was a loving generous and selfless man who thought more about others than he did about himself.

In accordance with his wishes, no services have been planned. Jack’s body was donated to the wvu school of medicine where, in death, he will continue to positively impact the lives of others. He will be greatly missed.
