Obituary

Joseph lee morris, 83, of south charleston, passed away at hubbard  hospice house-west, south charleston, on january 26, 2019, surrounded by his family.

He was born july 15, 1935, in smithers, son of the late grover and hattie copeland morris. 

he was a devout christian. Joseph worked with mercedes – benz in laurel. Md. A division of charleston – lincoln – mercury, charleston, w.Va. He also worked as a coal miner with bethlehem steel and  he delivered flowers for charleston cut flowers, jan’s floral, young’s floral and bonner flowers. He enjoyed this job because he got to meet several different people; he never met a stranger. 

he is survived by his wife of 63 years, patricia morris; children, ricky, pattie and paula morris; his two grandchildren, scott morris and marc (marky) anthony morris; four great – grandchildren, mariah morris, nickolas morris, christian hill, and maelisha ball; and several nieces and nephews.

Per his wishes, there will be no service at this time. His body will be cremated.

God saw he was getting tired, and a cure was not to be.

So he put his arms around him, and whispered, “come with me.”

with tear filled eyes we watched him  suffer and fade away.  

although we loved him deeply, we could not make him stay.

A golden heart stopped beating, hard-working hands put to rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the best.
