Obituary

Mildred s. Howie, 82 of kanawha city passed away at camc memorial hospital on wednesday, november 11, 2015.

Mildred was a retired manager of the townhouse apartments, charleston, wv.

She was a lifetime member of st. John’s episcopal church and served on the alter guild, and worked in the op shop.

Mildred volunteered for 20 years with camc women and children’s hospital. She was also a fabulous cook and enjoyed cooking for her family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, harold m. Howie, charleston; children, richard (deborah) howie, of pittsburgh, pa, thomas b. Howie of san antonio, tx, anne howie beattie of jacksonville, fl; grandchildren, sarah, megan, and michael howie, allison and elizabeth beattie and one great grandchild, stephen gerwel.

Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.M. Saturday, november 14, 2015 at st. John’s episcopal church with the rev. Marquita l. Hutchens officiating. Inurnment will follow in st. John’s episcopal church columbarium. A reception will follow the service and inurnment at the church.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to st. John’s episcopal church, in memory of mildred s. Howie, 1105 quarrier st., charleston, wv 25301.

    I Am Sorry For Your Loss, Your Mother Was Very Kind To Me When I Came Over To Your House After Going To The Pool, And When I Attended Youth Group At St.John’S With Anne.I Remember Watching “Yellow Submarine” At Your House And We Painted Once,I Called Once About 7 Years Ago At The Holidays,To Talk To Anne, But, She Had Left, Your Dad Remembered That I Got Paint On My Overalls, I Think She Helped Me Get The Paint Out.(It Was About 1974)
