Denise Hale Skiles, 61, passed away peacefully November 10, 2020, surrounded by her family.
Denise was born September 25, 1959, in Charleston, WV, to the late Thomas and Almond Hale. She was 1978 graduate of George Washington High School.

After high school, she began her career in retail, working for Sidney’s and Jean Nicole. In 1991, she married her best friend and love, Marvin Skiles. In 1992, she took on her most successful and treasured role as mother and homemaker.

Denise is survived by her loving husband, Marvin; children, Shane and Alexus Skiles; and grandson, Michael Wayne Collins, all of Charleston. Also surviving are her sisters, Delcenia Spurlock of Charleston, Dortricia Ruff of Moline, IL, and Yolonda Cameron of Waldorf, MD. Also grieving her loss, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, all whom she loved and touched deeply. She will be sorely missed.

  4. Auntie Denise, your family in Chicago is truly feeling this loss to our family, you were the baby and my mother, Dortricia, the second oldest sister-loved you as we all did. Your voice with that West Virginia twang always made me smile when ygiys were on the phone together. Their were a lot of miles between us but you will always be in our hearts. To Uncle Marvin, and our cousins know that your Chicago family love you all and will always have you in prayer.

It was my pleasure to have known Denise—her children were under my counseling at George Washington High School. Marvin and Denise were involved parents and always checking to make sure they were doing all that she expected from them. This is an amazing family and I know their hearts are heavy. I so understand as I just lost my husband to Covid. Hope to see you all soon. Ms. Eller
