Obituary
Roy abbott jr., 84, passed away at hubbard hospice house-west, monday, october 8th.
Roy was a graduate of walton high school and a retired employee of columbia gas transmission inc..
His greatest joys in life were his family and friends and he was so proud of his new great-granddaughter rylee. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, spending countless hours fishing for trout in williams river and hunting deer, raccoons, and squirrels all over west virginia, killing his last deer during last year’s season, he was a great man to ride the river with.
He was preceded in death by his parents, roy w. And retha e. Abbott.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, betty j. Abbott; sons, alan and joyce abbott of south charleston, joel and sherry abbott of clendenin; grandsons, matthew abbott and kirsten of clendenin and adam and vanessa abbott; great-granddaughter, rylee of clendenin; and step- granddaughter, angela haynes of saint albans.
As per roy’s request, there will be no service or visitation. The family requests that in lieu of flowers please make a donation to your local hospice.
