Obituary
Stephen clarence king, age 69, of the woodlands, tx, passed away on october 11, 2018. He was born april 17, 1949 in charleston, wv.
He is preceded in death by his father, clarence m. King, and mother, suzanne white king of charleston, wv.
He leaves behind his wife of 43 years, annella; son, stephen corby king of boston, ma; and daughter, caitlyn anne king of the woodlands, tx; brother, george m. King of gardnerville, nv; and sister, jean mcclelland of huntington, wv; along with many other beloved family and friends. He is dearly missed by his favorite four-legged friends, the family’s german shorthaired pointer, taz, and black lab, kindle.
Steve graduated from george washington high school and northwestern state university with a bs in political science. He shared fond memories of playing church league basketball at first presbyterian church, as well as swimming and coaching at meadowbrook during high school.
He and his family moved to the woodlands, tx in 1992.
Steve was a wonderful, loving, attentive husband and father. He enjoyed music, reading, and college football. He loved history and political discourse, and liked documenting family history. His friends and family will fondly remember him for his keen wit and clever sense of humor.
Visitation will be held friday, october 19, 2018 from11:00 a.M. To 1:00 p.M. In the chapel of first presbyterian church, charleston, wv. funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.M. In the chapel of the church with rev. Dr. Todd wright officiating. Interment will be in graceland cemetery, south charleston, wv.
For those wishing to make a memorial donation in steve’s honor, the family kindly suggests the massachusetts eye & ear clinic/harvard medical school dept. Of ophthalmology, and m. D. Anderson melanoma dept., earmarked toward the research and cure of uveal melanoma.

I Am So Very Sorry To Learn Of Steve’S Passing. We Lived On The Same Street Growing Up And Went To High School Together. He Was A Very Kind Person And I’M Truly Sorry We Never Knew We Lived Just Across Houston From Each Other. I Remember Him Fondly. My Deepest Condolences To His Wife And Children.
