Obituary

Nancy palmer roberts, 93, of charleston, passed away at home on wednesday, october 31, 2018 surrounded by her children.

She was born on september 14, 1925 to the late frances porter and noyes franklin palmer.

Nancy grew up in charleston, wv, attended charleston high school and sullins college and then graduated from west virginia university where she met her future husband, henry h. Roberts.

Nancy and henry were married in 1951 and had five children between 1952 and 1957. She spent the next phase of her life raising her children and was the best mother ever. She then moved on to a career in social services.   she retired from kanawha valley senior services in 1990.

Nancy loved to read, write humorous poems, care for the birds, and especially her four legged family members. She shared this passion with her children and grandchildren.

Humor, determination, grit and grace describe nancy perfectly!

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, henry harvard roberts.

She is survived by her children, francie roberts buchanan and husband bernard of lesage, wv, bill roberts and wife tanis of pittsburgh, pa, nonie roberts of mount hope, wv, nancy roberts and husband dan price of hamlin, wv, kathy roberts brown and husband flavius of doylestown, pa; 10 grandchildren, nancy and bernard jr buchanan, jay, karly and dana roberts, jessica, franklin, and michael stone, reed and palmer brown; and 7 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, bill palmer and his wife leola, her brother-in-law, jim roberts and his wife janet, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be 11:00 am, wednesday, november 7, 2018 at first presbyterian church chapel, charleston with rev. Doug jenkins officiating. Interment will be at a later date.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm. Tuesday, november 6 at barlow bonsall funeral home, charleston.
